MTCA is comprised of a team of coaches who prepare students for acceptance into musical theatre and drama BFA and BA programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to serving as an Assistant Director of MTCA, I am also a monologue, dance, song preparation, and interview coach for the team.
I coordinate guest faculty master classes for the team. Past guest professors have included Barbara MacKenzie-Wood and Gary Kline/Carnegie Mellon, Mark Madama/University of Michigan, Victoria Bussert/Baldwin Wallace, Kenneth Noel Mitchell/NYU, Amy Rogers/Pace, Michele Dunleavy/Penn State, Keisha Lalama/Point Park, Robin Lewis/Rider University, and Matthew Herrick/Northern Colorado.

“I remember walking in with a sense of dread, thinking, "Oh god, he's gonna be so critical and gahhhhh I do NOT feel ready for these college auditions!!!!"... However, Leo and I immediately connected and I couldn't wait to start working on audition material. Fast-forward to today, and I can still hardly fathom that I will be attending Carnegie Mellon University in the fall.”
Kelsey Carthew, Carnegie Mellon BFA Acting / Class of 2015
“Leo will push you past your 'limits'. He will not simply 'give you the answers'. He expects hard work, ambition, and respects the significant 'self-discovery' aspect of the actor's process...Perhaps the most striking quality that Leo demonstrates is his wisdom and devotion. His motivation and positive outlook are truly inspiring for any young performer.”
Chris Morrissey, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music BFA Musical Theatre / Class of 2015
“My son always wanted to be an actor but never attended an arts school, his resume wasn't long but with Leo's guidance and patient reassurance... Alejandro was able to get accepted into 7 undergraduate acting programs and chose to attend Rutgers. My son was able to relate to Leo because Leo matched my son's passion with care and that helped them become a better team.”
Sergio Cardozo, parent of Alejandro, Rutgers BFA Acting / Class of 2015
